Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club has been actively involved in Youth Exchange for almost 3 decades. Each year, the club agrees to host a student (between the ages of 15 and 19) for a year. The inbound student is hosted by 3 or 4 families and they attend Georgian Bay Community School in Meaford.
For 2016-2017, Hannes Stange from Bad Toelz, Bavaria, Germany was our Rotary Exchange Student.
Rotary Youth Exchange is the opportunity of a lifetime for the more than 8,000 students who participate each year. By sharing your own culture and embracing a new one, you help foster global understanding—and learn a great deal about yourself and your home country in the process.

Because the selection and orientation process can be lengthy, we suggest you apply before September so that the process is complete for you to leave the following August.
Hosting an exchange student can be an incredibly rewarding experience for your family, providing an international experience without leaving home. Host families provide room and board and share their lives with exchange students, involving them in family, community, and cultural activities.
